Who could forget this little jingle?
Hamza el Din - Ud

Interesting North African lute-type instrument, the ud. Lovely tune. If you enjoy music of the far corners of the globe, please visit Robert Garfias' page of films: itc.uci.edu/~rgarfias/kiosk/media.html (when you paste the link to your browser, delete that space between k and i in the word "kiosk," I don't know why, but youtube keeps inserting that space however I present the link) These films...

Mississippi Fred McDowell - John Henry

A real treat for the blues buffs out there. Sure wish there was more video of this guy out there, especially something acoustic, but even on an electric Fred is something else
Booker White - Aberdeen Mississippi Blues HIFI

Noticed there's already a version of this footage floating around, but this cut has MUCH higher quality. Enjoy!

Mance Lipscomb - Jack of Spades

Originally a Blind Lemon tune, Mance does it just right with a pocket blade. Enjoy!
Grant Green

Probably my absolute favorite guitarist. Grant was one of the best, and has somehow managed to slip under the radar, for the most part. After hours of searching and scouring I could only find this small amount of video footage. Sadly he only made it to the age of 44. Rest in Peace G.G.

Amazing !!! I have been listening to Fred McDowell for Decades and yet I am always hearing something new or different with each listen. Perhaps it is just age , I don't know. Timeless man. Dark ,deep, hypnotic soul .

In the spring of 1960 while I was in college, I found Mance's LP in the remainder bin at a record store. Always alert for a bargain, I bought it and played it to death. I finally recorded it and later transferred it to my Itunes player.

Grant Green was the ultimate groove master!!!! 😎😎😎😎 To be honest, I discovered him through his music that was sampled in hip-hop!!! Now I own some of his LPs!!! He was an amazing guitarist that didn’t get the true recognition he deserved!!! It’s crazy that he was Wes Montgomery and George Benson’s favorite guitarist!!!

Lots of modern players of the "shred" school like to call playing like Booker's "primative". I'd like to see them try those slaps, hammer-ons, and pull-off with the slide themselves. This shit is really difficult to replicate correctly.
